Twice. Twice in one weekend, I saw the movie 300.
Yes, it is that good.
It was Pat who first showed me the trailer on YouTube or something a couple of months ago. I knew immediately I needed to see the movie, and I needed to see it in theatre. I had talked about it with other people, and coming close to release, Ryan and I had bantered around the idea of seeing it when it opened. I would have gone to the first showing at midnight had I have thought ahead and booked the morning off of work for sleeping, but I didnt. Nonetheless, that day, Ryan had mentioned in an email to me about going to see it, and I got a hold of her by phone later in the day to confirm plans.
Walking out of the movie that night the two of us were speechless. The movie was indescribable the first time around. The only thing I could compare it to was having an orgasm, the feeling afterward. She agreed. When I went home and messaged Pat, that was exactly how I explained the movie to him. I told him if he did one thing this weekend, it was to go see 300 in theatre. I decided I needed to see it again.
I sort of had plans to go see it again tonight with someone, but those plans fell through. Lucky for me, people that were supposed to go with Pat bailed on him (and Dave, and Trish), so I got all "So, when are you coming to get me?", which apparently works (keep in mind I dont even live in the same town). So I gave him my number, so I could give them directions once they got into town, and we all went and got ready and off we went.
The movie was honestly better the second time around. I didnt think that could even be possible, but it was. Perhaps it was because there were no surprises, I knew what to expect and could just sit back and enjoy everything as it was happening. I dunno, but either way it was a thoroughly fantastic movie, and I highly recommend going to see it. I rarely purchase movies, but I think this will be one DVD I will purchase when it is released.

After seeing it twice, I can easily say that its now one of my favorite movies. And I only have a very select few of those.
