So, last night after supper my brother and my boyfriend were outside on the front step having a smoke. The large dog was already outside on the rope, and the little dog was in the house crying because obviously what was going on outside was much more exciting than what was happening inside. So, against my normally good judgment, I figured I could let her outside with them on the step and between the two of them they could manage to keep her corralled on the step with them.

I was wrong. (You saw that coming)

My little, almost twelve year old, Terrier/Shih Tzu mix outwit the two of them and made her daring escape. My boyfriend, knowing what was good for him, immediately set off following her. Keep in mind, her little legs arent going to take her all that far at this stage in the game, but she was being wily nonetheless. He seemed to be just walking up and down the road within her vacinity, while she was romping about in the neighbor's yards. I put my shoes and jacket on and went outside and marched not far behind the dog, who was running as fast as her little legs would take her (which was not all that fast, but amusing to watch). It only took me two minutes to catch her when she was investigating a truck three houses up the road. Then I picked her up and carried her home.

It'll probably be her most exciting day this week, because not only did she get to go for a run, but both Karla and Corrine had stopped in during the afternoon to visit and get waxed (company is always cause for great excitement). As you can well imagine, she was exhausted by the time it was bedtime.

I dont watch American Idol, or Canadian Idol, but every season I cant help but catch bits and pieces of shows, to get an idea of who's competing and if there's anyone that I like. This year I happened to catch the episode where they featured Josiah Leming and as soon as I heard him sing I knew I liked him. He had a voice that was familiar in an Emo kind of way. I was disappointed when I found out that he had been cut from the top 24, although, really American Idol isnt really the competition for him. Today I discovered his MySpace page, and the songs from his EP are now on my iPod. This makes me a very happy girl.

YES! Its like the closest thing I have to a soap opera, and I so wanted them to get together. I hope Jeph doesnt disappoint.

Funny, I had never heard the term "Pancake Day" until this year. Despite no longer considering myself Catholic, I come from a traditional Catholic background, and always knew this day as Shrove Tuesday. I suppose its odd but I go out of my way to eat pancakes on Shrove Tuesday, as well as not eating meat on Ash Wednesday or Good Friday, and they're really the only religious traditions I hold on to. Christmas and Easter seem to be culturally mandated these days.

Oh how I long to be rich if only to purchase things from Etsy.

For example, I dont wear rings, but I LOVE this. This and this, though, are actually things I would wear. Dont even get me started on handbags.

Despite the fact that I guess we're now "fine", Im not so naive that I think this isnt something that we're going to fight about again. I know this because he refuses to see where he was wrong, and that's perfectly okay because I stood up for myself, and I'll stand up for myself the next time and the time after that. He can try and turn it around and make it my fault as much as he wants, but Im not just going to sit back and quietly resent him, Im not the girl he dated before.
